Experiential Team Building is a highly interactive program designed for intact teams. It can be designed as a 1 to 3 day program to meet the specific needs of your team and organization. The program is rooted in the theory and concepts of the Experiential Learning Cycle, Challenge by Choice, and Full Value Contract. Participants engage in a series of problem solving activities where the problem content is quite different from their normal work tasks, but the process they engage in to complete the problems often reflect their usual communication and teaming skills. After completion of each learning activity, the team reflects upon their interpersonal and team dynamics, makes generalizations about their performance, and identifies what applications they can make to the workplace. In addition to assigned experiential learning activities, participants will complete personal and team inventories to identify strengths and developmental needs. The program ends with the team establishing and committing to a set of behavioral norms for the purpose of continuous team development. Objectives Increase understanding of components of effective teamsImprove teamwork behaviorsDevelop a stronger sense of shared accountability in reaching performance goalsContinue the process of building a consistent culture within all of the project teamsPersonal renewal and a commitment to develop a proactive response in the work environment

The quality of trust is critical to the performance of any team and is comprised of competency, common commitment, consistency, and caring. Complete a team process inventory “Team Effectiveness – How is your team working now?” and rate your team in the area of goals, planning, participation, feelings, decisions, trust and feedback. Establish a set of behavioral norms to support consistency, predictability, and accountability among team members.
