Gone are the days of pre-defined career paths and predictable progressions “up the ladder” in an organization. In today’s changeable and demanding marketplace, all of us need a career plan of our own, based on a combination of “the market” and our personal skills, talents, goals, aspirations, and values. This course will help you gain clarity about yourself and how you want to grow professionally; you’ll learn how to identify, understand, and benefit from professional and personal growth opportunities. You’ll come away with a draft of a development plan for your current situation, and you’ll have the tools and confidence to re-create and modify that plan as you grow and change over the years.
- Identify the components of your best work – motivated skills, values and interests
- Think creatively about professional and personal development opportunities
- Understand current business challenges, goals and realities
- Create a professional development plan that links to business objectives
